maybe you've noticed that i've actually been writing here more lately (imagine that - a blog that's actually updated on a regular basis!) and if you've clicked through to the actual blog, you may have even noticed that jump a little lighter has a new look as well.
honestly, i was just suddenly inspired to give this place (a lot) more attention again, after being pretty lazy with it over the summer. i want this place to be part of an ongoing dialogue and an active member of the (awesome) healthy lifestyle/weight loss/fitness blog world. i get so much inspiration from all of the blogs that i follow and while i know that i don't have anywhere near the kind of following they do, it's really cool to think that things i'm posting and sending out into the world could maybe help or inspire others.
i'm still not 100% set on this current layout. i've been really tempted to move to wordpress lately, but i have serious issues with the fact that i can't edit the code of my site's layout or install my own templates with a free wordpress account. (i used to hand code my own websites from scratch when i was in high school and college and i NEED to have the ability to mess with my templates and layouts.) i already pay for hosting for my photography website and this place is mostly for fun, so i don't want to add any unneeded expenses. i'm also a big fan of the whole blogger-google connection, since i use so many of google's features already. so for now, blogger it is!
two other additions to the site that you might not have noticed - the running and travel (coming soon!) sections.
if you mouse over the running tab, you'll be able to check out all of my race recaps and some of my favorite running posts, all organized and just a mouse click away! i'll be working on filling out the travel section soon and am hoping to include posts with travel tips (since i do a pretty decent amount of it), in addition to posts about my own travels.
i have a couple of other ideas on how to continue making this place more awesome, but i'm feeling pretty good about it for now. here are some other things i'm also feeling pretty good about right now:
1. the fact that thanks to a pto day i have scheduled for this friday, i only have the rest of today and tomorrow left of my work week.
2. new episodes of new girl. and raising hope. and i *might* already be hooked on the mindy project. (for a girl who barely has any channels, that's a whole lot of tv for one night.)
3. getting in two awesome workouts two days in a row.
4. the applesauce i made this weekend. you guys, it's SO good. seriously, MAKE SOME for yourself.
5. the message inside the dove chocolate i just ate -
